 Fareast Islami Life Insurance Co. Ltd. emerged as the 1st full-fledged Islami Life Insurance Company in the country in 2000 and have, by the grace of Almighty Allah, been able to bring confidence among the common people of the country.
As a result, in 2009 the Company has earned a total premium of Tk. 677.85 crore showing an increase of 111.97% over the previous year which is no doubt a remarkable achievement.
Last year we had taken a holistic approach in doing business with focus on quality customer service and business growth with decentralization of operational activities.
With that in view, we have already opened 450 Offices including 35 full-fledged Service Centers and 92 Zonal Offices in different places all over the country.
With this, we have been pursuing this strategy consistently, reinforcing our approach with emphasis on growth within a frame work of trust, integrity, good governance and compliance with the legal and regulatory frame work of the country.

I personally and on behalf of honorable members of the Board have the pleasure to welcome all of our prestigious client & honorable share holder to share some of my views and understanding regarding the Company and its performance, its objectives, mission, vision and strategic drives.
I am pleased to inform you that total premium earning in 2009 was Tk. 677.85 crore, showing an increase of 111.97% over the premium earning in 2008. The Life Fund raised to Tk. 992.36 crore in 2009 from Tk. 402.43 crore in 2008 showing 68.22% growth. You must appreciate that the growth of business is excellent and the financial health of the Company is very sound since our Life Fund is adequate in mitigating all Participant’s (Policyholder) Liabilities.
I would like to inform you that among the third generation companies, at first we went into IPO in the middle of 2005 with tremendous public support having 20 times higher subscription which indicates strong confidence of investors on the financial health of the Company. That was a compliance of directives from the regulatory body, moreover we are running our total operations complying laws of the land and thus the regulatory body consider us as a model Life Insurance Company in the Country.

Dear Shareholders, Assalamu Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullah. It is my immense pleasure to present a brief observation of the Company’s performance during the year 2008. Fareast Islami Life Insurance Co. Ltd. is a Shariah Compliant life insurance company having sharpened operational pattern, unique customer focus, expansion of branch network, new business development, building of an efficient and a dedicated work force and ensuring the highest level of transparency in all spheres of operations. The year 2008 is the 9th year of operation since the Company’s inception in 2000. Fareast Islami Life has set another record in the year 2008. After a very bright start to the year, the downturn in the global economy inevitably left its impact on the second half of 2008. Nevertheless, Fareast Islami Life experienced a year of substantial growth and profitability in which all of our business segments did very well. During the year we also took many important measures for making Fareast Islami Life a leading Life Insurance in this sub-continent in providing islami life insurance services. |
